Original Item: One-of-a-kind set. Oberleutnant Rudolf Hans was assigned to the Nachrichten-Dolmetscher-Ersatz-Abteilung, Kompanie, Gebirgs-Nachrichten-Abteilung 54.

The Nachrichten-Dolmetscher-Ersatz-Abteilung translates to "Message Interpreter Replacement Division"

The department was set up on May 1, 1941 in Meissen, Wehrkreis IV. The department was replaced by the III Department of the News-Lehr-Regiment in Leipzig. It was initially under the command of Intelligence Group IV. On April 10, 1943, the Division was divided into the News Interpreter Substitute Division and the News Interpreter Training Division. On March 20, 1944, the department was relocated to St. Avold in the Westmark. From that day on, the department was under the command of Intelligence XII. On September 1, 1944, the department moved to the training area Baumholder for three weeks before, on 20 September 1944 their new garrison in Halle, again in Military District IV, moved. From that day on, the department was again subordinate to the commander of Intelligence Group IV.


Included in this incredible, very personal collection, are the following items:

- Iron Cross 2nd Class Medal with award document dated October 29th, 1939.

- Sudetenland Medal with award document dated August 15th, 1938.

- Rare Honor Certificate for participation in the Wehrmacht Championships of 1938.

- War Merit Cross KvK 2nd Class with Swords Award Document dated April 20th, 1944.

- Wehrpass with photo. Earliest date 1936, latest date stamped entry June 1941.

- SA Sports Pass (with photo) ownership card, issued to Hans in 1936.

- 14 wartime photos one is Hans in uniform.

A fascinating collection that belonged to an officer in the Wehrmacht during World War Two.
